Today I lead Heaven Crack at Stanage - classic VD with ***. Placed the gear my self. Dad prusiked up beside me to check it. Scary in places and nearly just rush up the middle section without any gear, but decided that I better slow down and put some in. Noah seconded and I belayed him (dad backed me up having set up the belay)
Loved it, need to get out and do more trad route soon - hope the weather holds.
I won the region and jointly the third round with Martha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok it was on a top rope but still a 7a+! Over the moon. First time got to 1st but one hold, feet cut loose and fell - soooo close - pumped but had rest and then a another go.
Got that lead at the Foundry - Ok it was on the third attempt. Also worked at the 7a that I've been trying on a top rope touched the last but one hold!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will get it and then will lead it, as got to get more used to the steeper stuff.
After the success of the 6c leads thought I'd try a 6c+/7a. I got 2/3rds height on 1st go and the got all the moves but was too tired to finish it off. I'll get it next time I'm down in the week!
Today was the 2nd round of the BMC YCS came 2nd. Topped all of the boulder problems. Gracie and Flo from the British team fell off our hardest boulder problem I flashed it with ease. Small, balancy and slabby - just my thing - knew I could flash it and thought it was easier than the second problem (which I was the only one to do). Fluffed the top of the easiest route (did it after with ease when feeling very ill).
Today I came 3rd . Lydia came 1st and Pippa came close 2nd. Frustrated as came off on last route lower than I could have and banged my back -it hurt! (topped it fine after the competition). Then flashed the hardest boulder problem with ease first time! Then I flashed the hardest route the Midlands group D girls and boys had in the BMC YCS - none of them topped it!!!!!
